This policy explains the messages Hunt sends you, by SMS, email and notifications, which ones you can turn off, and how to spot messages that only pretend to be from us.
Messages we always send when you use a feature
These are needed for the service you asked for, so you cannot turn them off while you use it.
- Sign-in codes. When you sign in with your mobile number, we send a one-time code by SMS. When you sign in with email, we send it from signin@huntbrowser.com. Codes expire after 10 minutes.
- Account and security messages. For example, a change to your account, a security warning, or a reply to a request you made.
- Important changes. Notice of important changes to our terms or privacy policy, and the yearly reminder of our rules.
- Advertiser messages. If you have an advertiser account, messages about your campaigns, reviews and balance, from ads@huntbrowser.com (replies go to hello@huntbrowser.com).
Messages you choose to get
These are off unless you turn them on, and you can turn them off at any time.
- Sponsored notifications. Advertisers' messages shown as browser notifications, for bonus points. Turn them on or off in the points panel. You never need them to earn other points.
- Price-drop alerts. A notification when a product you track gets cheaper. Stop tracking the product to turn them off.
- Promotional emails or SMS. News about Hunt, offers or contests, only if you said yes. Every promotional email has an unsubscribe link, and you can reply STOP to a promotional SMS where the message says so.
We never make sponsored notifications or promotional messages a condition for using Hunt or earning ordinary points.
How we send SMS in India
SMS in India follows TRAI's rules on commercial communications. Our messages are sent through MSG91 using sender IDs and message templates registered on the DLT platform. We will not send you promotional SMS if you have registered your number on the National Customer Preference Register (Do Not Disturb), unless you have given us your consent for that type of message.
How often
We keep messages to what is useful. Sponsored notifications are limited to a few a day. We do not send promotional SMS at night (between 9 pm and 9 am).
How to spot fake messages
- We will never ask for your sign-in code, by phone, SMS, chat or email. Anyone who asks is not us.
- We will never ask for your bank details, card number, UPI PIN or passwords.
- We never ask you to pay to receive points or a reward.
- Our emails come only from addresses ending in @huntbrowser.com.
- Hunt Rewards has no cash value and redemption is not available yet. Messages promising you money from Hunt are fake.
If you get a suspicious message claiming to be from Hunt, forward it to hello@huntbrowser.com. You can also report fraud calls and messages to the Government of India's Chakshu service on the Sanchar Saathi portal.
No spam from your account
Don't use Hunt, your referral link or our name to send spam. Accounts that do may be closed under our Terms of Service.
Your data
Your mobile number and email are used as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell them or give them to advertisers.
