This policy explains how the news feed and other third-party content appear in Hunt, how publishers can ask us to change or stop showing their content, and how anyone can report content that is unlawful or infringes their rights.
The news feed
The news feed on Hunt's new tab shows stories from publishers. For each story we show:
- the headline;
- a picture, where the publisher provides one;
- a short extract or summary;
- the publisher's name and the time;
- a link that opens the full story on the publisher's own website.
We take this from the publisher's public feeds (such as RSS) or from partners licensed to supply it. We do not copy full articles into Hunt. The full story is always read on the publisher's site, where the publisher's own ads and terms apply.
Sponsored cards in the feed are labelled "Sponsored" with the advertiser's name, and are not made to look like news. See our Advertising Policy.
The feed filters out duplicate stories and adult content. We choose sources and topics by country, language and subject. We do not edit the meaning of stories. Showing a story does not mean we agree with it.
AI summaries
If you use Summarize on an article, the summary is made by AI and is shown in the AI sidebar, not as part of the publisher's content. A summary may miss important details and is not a substitute for the article. See the AI Features Notice.
For publishers
To change or remove your content, or to stop it appearing in the feed altogether, write to hello@huntbrowser.com from an address at your publication's domain, and tell us:
- the name of your publication and its website;
- the feed or stories concerned;
- what you want us to do: remove a story, change how your content appears (for example no pictures or no extracts), or stop showing your publication.
We act on a verified publisher's request to stop showing its content within 72 hours, and usually sooner.
To be included, or to offer a licensed feed, write to the same address.
Reporting unlawful content or a rights infringement
Anyone can report content shown in Hunt, such as a feed story, a picture, an ad or an AI summary, that they believe:
- infringes their copyright, trademark or other rights;
- is unlawful under Indian law, or breaks the rules in section 13 of our Terms of Service;
- shows them, or someone they represent, in a sexual or intimate way without consent, or is a fake or altered image or video of them.
Send your report to hello@huntbrowser.com, or see the Grievance Redressal page. Please include:
- your name and contact details;
- where the content appears in Hunt (a screenshot helps) and its web address;
- why you believe it is unlawful or infringes your rights;
- for copyright or trademark: what work or mark is affected, and that you own it or are authorised to act for the owner;
- a statement that the information in your report is true to the best of your knowledge.
What we do with reports
| Type of report | What we do | Time limit |
|---|---|---|
| Any complaint | Acknowledge it | Within 24 hours |
| Content showing a person in a sexual or intimate way without consent, or a fake or altered image of them | Remove or disable access | Within 2 hours of the complaint |
| An order from a court or an authorised government agency | Remove or disable access | Within 3 hours of the order, or the shorter time the order sets |
| Other content that is unlawful, or breaks section 13 of our terms | Review and, where justified, remove or disable access | Within 72 hours |
| Copyright or trademark infringement | Review and, where justified, remove or disable access | Within 72 hours |
| Any other complaint | Resolve it | Within 7 days |
When we remove content, we keep a record of it as Indian law requires, and we may tell the source. If we disagree with a report, we will explain why. You can appeal our decision to the Grievance Appellate Committee, as described on the Grievance Redressal page.
Repeat problems
We stop showing sources that repeatedly publish unlawful or infringing content, and close accounts that repeatedly break our rules.
False reports
Don't send reports you know to be false. A false report about someone else's content can be unlawful.
Changes
We may update this policy, and will show the date each version takes effect.
