These terms are the agreement between you and us for using Hunt Browser, the Hunt extension, our websites and our services. Please read them: by installing or using Hunt, you agree to them.
1. Who we are
Hunt Browser is run by Newtact Lab Private Limited (OPC), a company registered in India (CIN U72200TG2015OPC097632), with its registered office at 12th Floor, Manjeera Trinity Corporate, Geek Space Business Centre, Near Lulu Mall, KPHB Phase 3, Hyderabad, Telangana 500072, India. In these terms, "Hunt", "we" and "us" mean that company, and "you" means the person using Hunt. Our company details are on the Company Information page.
Hunt is part of the Thaja group. Its sister company, Thaja FZE LLC, a company registered in the Sharjah Publishing City Free Zone, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (hello@thaja.net), runs Hunt's products outside India and is the seller when you buy something from us outside India (for example advertising credit). When it sells to you, it does so on these terms, and "we" also means Thaja FZE LLC for that purchase.
2. What Hunt is
Hunt is a web browser that rewards you. The "Hunt services" are:
- Hunt Browser for Windows, Mac, Android, iPhone and iPad (where available), built on the open-source Chromium project (WebKit on iPhone and iPad);
- the Hunt extension for Chrome and Edge;
- Hunt Rewards: points for browsing, daily check-ins, referrals, offers, shopping and games;
- the new tab, with search, shortcuts, a news feed, weather, a to-do list and sponsored items;
- the ad and tracker blocker;
- the AI sidebar (Summarize and Ask AI);
- Sync for bookmarks;
- our websites, including huntbrowser.com, and the advertiser portal at ads.huntbrowser.com.
The basic browser is free. Some features need an account, and some may only be available in some countries.
3. Other terms that are part of this agreement
Some features have their own terms. When you use a feature, its terms apply as well as these. If they conflict, the feature's own terms win for that feature.
- Privacy Policy: what we collect and why.
- Hunt Rewards Terms: points, earning, expiry and fraud rules.
- Offers, Cashback and Affiliate Terms: offers and shopping rewards from partners.
- Contest Rules: any contest or promotion we run.
- AI Features Notice: how the AI sidebar works and its limits.
- Browser Licence Agreement: the licence for the software you install.
- Content and Copyright Policy: the news feed and takedown requests.
- Communications Policy: the codes, emails and notifications we send.
- Cookie Policy: cookies on our websites.
- Advertiser Terms and Advertising Policy: only if you advertise with us.
4. Who can use Hunt
- You can use the basic browser at any age your local law allows, but you must be 13 or older to create a Hunt account.
- If you are under 18, you may only create an account with the verifiable consent of a parent or lawful guardian, when we offer a way to give it. Until then, Hunt accounts are for adults only.
- Hunt Rewards, offers, shopping rewards, contests and sponsored notifications are only for people aged 18 or over.
- You must not use Hunt if the law where you live forbids it, or if we have closed your account before.
5. Your account
- You sign in with a mobile number or email address and a one-time code. Keep your phone and email secure: anyone with access to them can sign in as you.
- One person, one account. Don't create or use accounts for anyone else, or share your account.
- Give us true details, and keep them up to date.
- We will never ask you for your one-time code by phone, chat or email. Don't share it with anyone.
- We may ask you to confirm your identity, for example before a large change to your account, or when the law requires it.
- Tell us at once at hello@huntbrowser.com if you think someone else has used your account.
6. Rewards, offers and games
Hunt Rewards is optional. The full rules are in the Hunt Rewards Terms. In short:
- Points have no cash value. They are not money, a wallet, a deposit or a payment instrument. You cannot buy, sell or transfer them.
- Redemption is not available yet. It will open later under terms we publish then. We do not promise any reward, amount or date.
- Offers and shopping rewards come from third parties, who decide whether an offer is completed.
- Games in Hunt are free to play. Points are never used to enter a game, and there are no games of chance for points.
- Referrals are one level only: you earn for friends you invite yourself, never for people they invite.
- We may hold, reverse or remove points that were earned by mistake, by fraud or against the rules.
7. Sponsored content
Hunt is free because advertisers and partners pay us. The new tab can show sponsored wallpapers, shortcut tiles and news-feed cards, and, only if you turn them on, sponsored notifications. Every sponsored item is labelled "Sponsored", with the advertiser's name where it fits. Some links, such as shopping links and some shortcut tiles, are affiliate links that earn us a commission; we say so where they appear.
Advertisers are responsible for their ads and for what they sell. We review ads under our Advertising Policy, but we do not guarantee any advertiser's claims. If you think an ad is misleading or harmful, report it to hello@huntbrowser.com.
You can switch off the news feed in the new tab's Customize panel, and sponsored notifications in the points panel.
8. The ad and tracker blocker
The blocker uses public filter lists and our own rules, and runs on your device. It does not block Hunt's own labelled sponsored items on the new tab. Blocking can sometimes break a website; you can pause the blocker for a site at any time. We provide the blocker as it is, and cannot promise it will block every ad or tracker. Some websites ask you to turn ad blockers off, and it is your choice whether to do so.
9. AI features
The AI sidebar can summarise a page or answer questions about it. It only reads a page when you ask. AI answers can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Don't rely on them for medical, legal, financial or other important decisions; check the original source. AI features have daily limits. See the AI Features Notice.
10. Sync and your data
Sync is end-to-end encrypted with your passphrase. We cannot read your synced data, and we cannot recover it if you forget your passphrase. Keep your own copy of anything important. How we handle personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Third-party content, sites and services
The news feed shows headlines, pictures and short extracts from publishers, with a link to the publisher's own site. Websites you visit, publishers, offer partners, shops, search providers and games made by others are run by third parties. We don't control them and are not responsible for their content, products, prices or policies. Their own terms apply when you use them.
12. Rules of use
When you use Hunt, you must not:
- break any law, or help anyone else to;
- use bots, scripts, emulators, automation, click farms or anything else that fakes activity, impressions, clicks, offers or referrals;
- create or control more than one account, or use another person's account;
- hide your location or identity to earn points or get offers meant for another country, for example through a VPN or proxy;
- copy, scrape or resell our services or data without our written permission;
- reverse-engineer, interfere with or try to get around our points ledger, fraud checks, rate limits or security, except as allowed by our Security and Vulnerability Disclosure Policy or by law;
- remove or hide "Sponsored" labels, notices or credits;
- overload, attack or disrupt our servers or networks;
- send spam, or misuse referral links;
- use Hunt to harm, harass or deceive anyone.
13. Content you must not host, share or send
India's Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules 2021 require us to tell you this. Where you can put content on Hunt (for example a synced item, an ad, a report or a message to us), you must not host, display, upload, change, publish, send, store, update or share anything that:
- belongs to someone else and you have no right to use;
- is obscene or pornographic, is sexual content involving a child, invades someone's privacy (including bodily privacy), insults or harasses anyone because of their gender, is racially or ethnically offensive, promotes money laundering or gambling, or encourages hatred between groups on grounds of religion or caste with the aim of inciting violence;
- is harmful to children;
- infringes a patent, trademark, copyright or other intellectual property right;
- misleads people about where a message came from, or knowingly and deliberately spreads information that is false or misleading;
- pretends to be another person;
- threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India, its friendly relations with other countries, or public order; encourages any serious crime; prevents the investigation of a crime; or insults another nation;
- contains a virus or other code meant to damage, interrupt or limit a computer, phone or network;
- is an online money game, or an advertisement for one, or for a betting or gambling service;
- is made or changed by AI or other tools to look like a real person, event or document, so as to deceive people;
- breaks any law in force.
If you see content like this on Hunt, report it through the Grievance Redressal page. We act on reports within the times the law sets, and may remove content and suspend or close accounts.
14. If the rules are broken
If we reasonably believe you have broken these terms or the law, or put other users, partners or advertisers at risk, we may, in proportion to the problem:
- warn you;
- remove content;
- hold, reverse or remove points;
- limit features;
- suspend or close your account.
Where the law allows and it does not harm an investigation, we will tell you why and how to ask for a review. You can ask through the Grievance Redressal page.
15. Updates
Hunt updates itself automatically to keep you safe and add features. Some updates are required: if your version is too old to be safe, Hunt may ask you to update before some features work. Features may change, be added or be removed over time. We will tell you in advance if we remove a major feature you rely on, where we reasonably can.
16. Our intellectual property
Hunt, Hunt Browser, our logos and our designs are our trademarks or brand features. You may not use them without our written permission, except to refer to Hunt fairly. The software is licensed to you, not sold, under the Browser Licence Agreement. Open-source parts are under their own licences; see Open Source Notices.
17. Your feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without paying you or owing you anything. We will not publish your name with them without asking.
18. Fees
The Hunt services described here are free. If we offer paid features later, we will show the price and terms before you pay, and nothing will be charged without your clear agreement.
19. Disclaimers
We work hard to keep Hunt safe and reliable, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that Hunt will always be available, free of errors, or suitable for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 2019 or other law that cannot be excluded.
20. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses, lost profits, lost data you did not back up, or losses caused by third-party sites, partners or advertisers;
- our total liability to you for any claim about the Hunt services is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim, or ₹1,000.
These limits do not apply to death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or anything else the law does not allow us to limit.
21. Your responsibility to us
If you break these terms or the law and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim, to the extent the law allows.
22. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events we cannot reasonably control, such as natural disasters, network or power failures, failures of our providers, government action or war.
23. Ending this agreement
You can stop using Hunt at any time by uninstalling it, and delete your account by writing to hello@huntbrowser.com or in the app where offered. Deleting your account ends your points. Points have no cash value and cannot be recovered after deletion.
We may close an account under section 14, or if we stop offering a service. If we stop offering a service, we will give you reasonable notice where we can. What happens to points is set out in the Hunt Rewards Terms.
Sections that by their nature should continue after the agreement ends, such as 16, 19, 20, 21 and 24, continue.
24. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms when our services or the law change. We will show the date each version takes effect and keep earlier versions. For important changes, we will tell you in Hunt or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Hunt after a change takes effect, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can stop using Hunt and delete your account.
Yearly reminder. At least once a year we remind every user of these terms, our Privacy Policy and the rules in sections 12 and 13, and that we may suspend or close accounts that break them.
25. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please contact us first through the Grievance Redressal page; most problems can be solved quickly that way. If we cannot solve it, the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana, India, have jurisdiction, subject to your right to go to a consumer commission or court where the Consumer Protection Act 2019 allows.
